In the fading light, these iconic animals move across the arid inland plains, not far from where the land eventually meets the endless blue of the coast. This tranquil scene captures the essence of Australia: a unique blend of rugged outback and sweeping shores, where wildlife like the red kangaroo thrives against a backdrop of one of the world’s most striking coastal landscapes.

The coin’s coloured reverse portrays a kangaroo bounding along the Australian coastline with the vivid hues of sunset reflecting on the ocean in the background. The design includes The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO’, along with the coin’s weight, purity and 2026 year-date featured on a pattern of undulating lines.

Authentication Feature
For additional peace of mind, the coin incorporates an authentication feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter. Detectable under a magnifying glass, it is designed to make it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited.
